"Our customers are unlikely to see themselves walking down the street."

Sutter Creek Boutique is a contemporary California Women's fashion retailer, located in Sutter Creek. The number one merchandising goal is to make large numbers of seasonal buys of the latest merchandise from respected, quality labels. Each fashion group is bought in small quantities but more than 400 separate buys are made yearly. This ensures almost daily arrivals of new merchandise. More important, our customers have an unusually large selection to choose from, yet any particular item is never bought in large quantity. Our customers are unlikely to see themselves walking down the street. Occasional sales are held.

The business was started in January 1995 as Bonnie's of Sutter Creek and is a family business owned as a California subchapter S corporation by Bill and Bonnie Taylor. Bill is president, Bonnie is vice president. Bill and Bonnie have lived in Sutter Creek since 1985. In 1985 they founded a dry cleaning and alterations business in nearby Rancho Murieta, California. They sold all interest in that business in 2000.

On Labor Day 2000 Sutter Creek Boutique was relocated from Eureka Street to its present location at 40 Main Street, across from historic Bellotti Inn and two doors south of Sutter Creek Theatre.

In 2002, in the first ever such survey, Sutter Creek Boutique was named Amador County's Best Women's Apparel Store by the readers of the Amador Ledger Dispatch, Amador County's primary newspaper.
